The lack of education and basic economic knowledge of the average citizen is a shame. If only they knew that the Fed is and always was the cause for there financial problems they wouldn't demonstrate against Trump or other politicians but they would burn the Fed down. "It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning". Henry Ford

If you look at CPI (inflation data) over the last eight years (2012 - 2020), you can notice inflation on a monthly basis between 0 - 2.9% consistently. Now if you look at the ten year period before, 2002 - 2011, essentially every year has inflation above 3%. I find this eerie in that I think this might involve very intrusive tactics on the part of some entity attempting to create such stability. Whatever tech/tools used since 2012 definitely was not used before. With COVID-19, Trump, and a bunch of other anomalies over the past few years, it makes you think.

The idea that the fed can raise interest rates or shrink its balance sheet with the debt levels we have is absurd. The Fed does not have the ammunition to fight inflation and yes inflation is running much hotter than they are admitting. My cost of living has gone up a lot in the last year.

just look at the prices. 15 years ago: Gas was 0.99$, now it's 4$. Houses were 150k, now the same house is 600k. Milk was 2.99$, now it's 5.99$. That does not look like 2%/yr inflation to me. You get what you voted for, the democrat is gonna print US into a depression. Ur money is worthless when hyper inflation hit.

The FED ( and our fleckless leaders ) do not actually measure inflation. True inflation would be bound to prices of equal goods and services. However, they use a method that incorporates substitution of goods and services. Therefore if we were to be forced to live under bridges and eat cat food the price of food and housing under their method would be seen as deflationary. Lol

the only thing that matters to inflation is true dynamic economic growth in terms of healthy jobs growth, industrial production, and services provided. everything in this country is so top heavy and the majority of jobs created are bad jobs, so deflation has been happening for the last 20 years as jobs are shipped overseas or are automated. GDP means literally nothing when we can achieve 100% gdp growth if we just dig and fill ditches.
