What happens when big social media companies ban users?

Jason Ware of Albion Financial and Alex Kantrowitz of Big Technology discuss the moves by Twitter and other social media and internet companies to drop President Trump and alt-right groups, whether that opens up opportunities for smaller players, and if investors should think about diversifying outside of Big Tech. So Facebook, Google, Twitter , and Apple are squeaky clean. Their customer do not harm. Yeah, right. This guy is lying, even the Europeans and starting to get worried. They did this to Trump, the will do it to other leaders too.

I expect this may be the critical moment when the Liberal social media elites realize that Jacko Dorsey torched their business models as they currently know it. It may be uncomfortable for Jacko when he shows up at Zuckerberg's house to play video games (or whatever they do) in the coming weeks once they realize it. A case study in management-- don't surround yourself with people that ALL think alike.

Terrorists should NEVER have a place on social media. That's final. I'm glad tech companies are taking steps to do something about this problem. Insurrectionists, terrorists do not get to enjoy freedom of speech, first amendment.

Businesses must halt advertising on Fox News and right wing media that fomented in the mad man Trump inciting an assault on our Capitol. The lies, unfounded rumors and conspiracies by right wing media brought America close to losing our democracy. Business needs a stable country with a liberal democracy, instead of one led by an autocrat and mob rule.

One has to remember that these networks are sustained by advertising money. so you have to factor in what kind of advertisers they will attract. you also have to remember that they are all opt-in services. it actually requires quite a bit of effort to hook up to the internet, pay for that service and then migrate to the social platform. Once there your subject to advertising. I think the best analogy to social media platform is a circus or a county fair. You have to pay entrance fee and then once you enter you're subject to all sorts of stalls and barkers trying to get your attention. The thing about it is that everybody's mentioning where the best rides are and the best barkers are. All the while you're not allowed to incite violence or start fights you get kicked out of the circus.

A lot of businesses are about greed and love of money which shows how corrupt they are and how they are linked to the corrupt US government. How many pockets are Pelosi's hands in? Pelosi is just one corrupt government official - there are many such as Biden and right on down the line. Only the naive and ignorant would not see the corruption. Of course big tech will censor when it can affect their bottom line. This is about money folks, plain and simple. This censorship has nothing to do with Trump's actions, it was just perfect timing for big tech to use it in their favor and other spineless sheeple businesses followed them.

You're a little late to this party. They've had that right and exercised it from the beginning - politicians who've been banned recently have just been getting off lucky with special treatment. Now they're being held to the same standard as every other user. If they don't like it then they can invest their own $ into developing their own online platforms, or just grow a full sack and utilize their ability to step in front of a camera and state their case live on national TV - unlike most people, they still have that avenue to pursue.....

Twitter, google, Facebook, totalitarian friends. The US is no longer a democracy. You can't build your own social media because Google won't let you do it LOL Today, when you want to vote for Trump and you write why he should be president, the totalitarian social media in USA will impose a ban on you. Google and Facebook today elect the president in the USA. And the democratic world should block American social media quickly

Why don't they cut-off all the subscribers or just remove their platform to be simple. The subscribers are controlling the social media, not the CEO. If 50 to 70% subscribers will unsubscribe and go to other platforms your stock price will drop to the ground.
